History
West Coast Christian Academy will be celebrating our 75 Years of opening its doors since 1951! Founded by the first organized Adventist church in Florida (Palmetto SDA Church). In 1892 Palmetto church decided they needed a school and sectioned off a part of the church property to house that need. Around 1944 a church fire accident and necessities left students in the area without an Adventist school. Churches in Palmetto, Sarasota, Bradenton & Sneed's Island area joined together to find a solution. Eventually Pastor Elder Findley found the property on which WCCA would eventually be, and on the fall of 1951 WCCA opened its doors.

Our mission is to develop in each student a love for Jesus and others, encouraging academic excellence and inspire leadership through service.
Philosophy of Faith
The philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist Christian education views education as a means of restoring human beings to their original relationship with God. Believing the redemptive aim of true education to be the restoration of human beings into the image of their creator, WCCA, in cooperation with the church and the home, strives to prepare each learner for responsible citizenship in this world to come.
True education imparts more than academic knowledge. It fosters the balanced development of the whole person—spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. Its time dimension links us to eternity.
True Christian Education seeks to:

Innovation at a FLCOE School
ADMISSIONS AND ENROLLMENT PLEDGE
West Coast Christian Academy is a place where students are given every opportunity to grow. We are looking for students who want to engage with us in the journey, and who are excited to be in our school. We want each child to do his/her best while accepting the help the teacher offers. We have a high standard of behavior as outlined in this handbook, and we want parents/guardians to sign an Enrollment Pledge form indicating their support of these expectations.
WCCA, a Seventh-day Adventist school, is open to young people who are emotionally ready to enroll for the purpose of doing earnest, faithful work, and who have a desire to develop a Christian character and a personal walk with God. A minimum of two WCCA staff or board members may interview each new prospective child before students in grades 3-8 proceed with registration.
WCCA partners with parents or legal guardians of students in the education of their children. In doing so, WCCA requires family members to support our educational program, participate in various school activities and encourages the parents or guardians to uphold Christian principles in the home.
